  • I'm a freelance web developer based on the east coast. I specialize in modern, user-focused sites.

  • Bio

My name is Matt Morgan. I'm from Baltimore, MD and studied at New York University. Currently, I'm a web developer at Weber Shandwick, a global public relations firm, working for such clients as PepsiCo, GM, Motorola, American Airlines, Clorox, and Nabisco.

I've been a freelance web developer for over 5 years and have extensive skills in both front-end development (HTML, CSS, Javascript) and back-end development (PHP, MySQL). I build Wordpress sites, Facebook applications, custom content management systems and rich web applications. I've worked with all of the modern, social APIs like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Gowalla and I have experience with mobile development (HTML5, CSS3, etc.).

I look at each new project as an opportunity to push the limits and expand my knowledge. I'm more interested in learning new technologies rather than relying on existing third-party systems. With each new line of code comes the chance to simplify, grow and master.

      Juicy Scoop

      http://apps.facebook.com/juicyscoop/

A Facebook iframe application accompanied by an FBML Application tab for Florida Department of Citrus that offers women a place to share interesting "scoops" in their area. Built off of my custom PHP template framework, it includes custom Image Upload and Resizer classes to allow users to upload any size images to accompany their "scoop." URL rewriting, AJAX and jQuery animations work to create a user-friendly interface. Built-in Facebook sharing features make it easy for "scoopers" and users/commenters to share their activity with friends. Delete buttons allow "scoopers" to remove their own scoops (and also allows Application Admins to delete inappropriate scoops).
